I saw the first sparkles of summer recently — first one little glow, then another. By the time I finished this painting, the field behind our house has been full of fireflies and it was just so beautiful! What activity is more nostalgic than running around a backyard and catching fireflies? It’s pure summer magic, and I created this painting to capture the memories and the promise of summer and the simple magic summer holds for everyone — little ones, more seasoned ones, and everyone in between. I couldn’t decide whether to paint an expansive field or a forest, so I painted both! I hope one of them touches your particular attachment to long summer nights catching fireflies.

Please note: Firefly Field (pictured below) was photographed using our «Legacy Natural» frame which is now retired. If you are interested in wood frame, we recommend our «Gallery Blonde» which is lighter conífera, but still beautiful!
